“Passion is a love for the journey, drive is a need to reach a destination”.
So where are you waiting for? Travel the world with me! And believe me I still need to reach a lot of destinations. My blog represents: From frozen to liquid water, still alive and sending it 2.0. Aiming for the Olympics 2.0. Around the world with my kites, foils, skates, boards, travelling with a van, competing in sun and snow. It`s my never ending adventure and I like to take you with me! Whatever happens, wherever it will lead me. On the road to be and to find the best version of myself!
“She believed, she could, so she did” .. and so can you!
If everybody goes left, I will go right and smile. If everything happens in a certain way it will happen different in my life.…Always something to laugh about, to remember, to think about or to forget, always another story. The best days of my life, the worst days of my life: Why isn`t it just “normal” and boring? Easy? Guess that`s not my way. I accepted that fact a long time ago.
Write a book about it and you will definitely have a never ending story, or maybe a complete new library with all storylines combined (comedy, drama, family). Everytime I think I have it all under control… life thinks different. But the most important thing, I always believed in myself and in my way. Even tough life totally sucks, and it’s really hard to push forward, but you can, everybody can… because life is great!!!
Remember the saying I learned already as a little girl:
“You should hold on a little longer than you can – that’s where it will change”
The most important thing is to always believe in yourself, do it with passion, have fun, do it for yourself, because you like it – do it because you love it – you gotta be yourself! Others will never truly understand your journey. Its your road, and yours alone. Others may walk it with you. But no one can walk it for you. So take the journey even if it means alone. Life is one big journey: its not where you end up but its how you got there and that begins with one single step. Trust the journey, even when you dont understand it. In the end you will! Be brave, be kind & be strong! Just Be You!

….And so you know what they say: If plan A doesn’t work, the alphabet has 25 more letters, just try it one more time and stay cool! I also found a thousand ways that didnt work before I found the right path.
“Mission impossible”
What I learned is that you always should believe in the impossible. It is going to be hard, but hard is not impossible – and it will be worth it – believe me. From skiing to kiteboarding, from nothing at all to studying a master, from struggles to competing international again. Even on a Olympic mission 2.0…….. Some days I surprise myself and other days I don`t even know what day it is. And you know what…? That`s oke. Acceptance doesn`t mean resignation. It means understanding that something is what it is and there`s got to be a way through it.
“You can be anything!”
It doesn’t matter how many times you slam your face on the water or the concrete, it`s all part of the game, don’t beat yourself up – keep going! Yes your gonna fall sometimes and yes it might hurt sometimes, but its oke don’t let it stop you from doing what you love the most. You’ve got to get back up and keep going – falling is part of life and that can’t stop you from what you are doing – it will make you stronger! It makes me excited if I am scared, I have to do it.
“If there is no way , create one”
Even if it means taking my kite to class or travelling 60 km by bus, train, boat and foot to reach the beach and go kiting…. Starting with work 4 in the morning, studying until 3 and kiting until it`s dark….double nightshifts. Drive to Greece for a competition, convert a van on my own…There is always a way, you just have to find it and make it happen. Look for possibilities and progress. Don’t compare and justify. Life has no limitations , except the ones you make.
“Representing possibilities”
Convinced, again: to share my passion again, to take you with me on a journey called life…It might give you some answers or even more questions. All, hopefully to inspire you, to follow your dreams, to find the possibilities in life, to believe in yourself and to create your own way – no matter what. Nothing is impossible, show it! Or how we say: ik heb het nog niet gedaan dus ik denk dat ik het wel kan – I never did it before so I think I can do it!
You know? all those things you`ve always wanted to do? You should go do them. Let the journey begin, enjoy!
